That isn't free - that's better than free. They pay you to NOT get their magazine.
I wish I had known that before my "free" subscription had expired and they started bugging me to renew for real $$$.
But for the most part it was just easier to toss it in the recycling bin.

I've been getting it for several months now. There are a lot of ads, but some of the articles can be interesting, I read them on airplanes and bus rides. I'm not paying for it so I don't care. I also got a mystery subscription to Newsweek, which is kind of nice.

My wife refers to it as the "boys magazine".
My nephew, a World Cup skier, was on the cover around the time of the Winter Olympics. I would'nt have recognized him if my sister hadnt told me about it. They made him up like some male model. Its an odd mag.

It is indeed from having bought something from Nashbar. I've been getting it for free for over a year now, maybe even approaching two.
Actually, some of the extreme sport articles are kind of interesting - all sorts of things that I would never do, or could never do.... There was one several months ago about a kayaker who specialized on remote, un-ridden rivers. He was kayaking in Africa someplace, managed to avoid being killed during a hippo attack, but then was literally eaten by crocodiles later on (same trip)! Yikes! That said, I can do without umpteen articles about surfers....

I stopped ordering from Nashbar when it took them three weeks to ship three in-stock items from Ohio to PA. Fortunately they didn't bother to sign me up for any unwanted magazines along the way.

I got nothing too much to add, but I use to live in an apartment where the previous tenant subscribed to a hardcore gay porn video catalog(before the internet was big). I threw them out and didn't think to call the porn company to quit sending mail to my address. The landlord one day came by and noticed the mail. He gave me funny looks whenever I saw him aftewards.

I wrote a book report on Gladiators when I was in 8th grade...but no I didn't like the movie Gladiator and wasn't too impressed with other Gladiator type movies. But I am very much Carbon curious and I feel really sexy when I wear my bibs without my jersey and I wear socks with a rooster on it.
