Turbos
Cinelli Volare
Brooks
Avocet Touring
Specialized BG's
Anything that's supposed to be comfortable.

If it looks light, hard, and uncomfortable, I'll probably like it.
Riding the drops will do that for you.

Most painful is the old version Avocet Racing II. After the 1st ride of every new season, I'd be so sore, I can't sit properly for a few days. Just assumed it was the cost of using a racing saddle. Once I hardened up, it was acceptable.

Funny, I found the Turbo to be the most comfortable vintage saddle. No pain. I must have a Selle Italia @ss.

I was saving this one but when I tried the white Turbo on my Ironman I decided against it. Lol.

I LOL'ed. I've had a few (mostly female) visitors to my dorm room asking if the saddles, especially the Speedneedle on my modern bike, didn't effect any vital functions.

I'm surprised, not one mention of the Concor Supercorsa???!
I remember lots of people in the 80's used to complain about them being uncomfortable (I loved them though) and moved to the Turbo for more comfort..........Did the world turn upside down since then??
If there was a saddle that was really uncomfortable for me, it was the Kashimax with the quilted patterned black vinyl cover that was on my brother's Free Spirit when we used it as a beater bike in college.

Someone has to ask...
How did you convince them there was no problem?

I have wide seatbones, so anything stock feels like an axe, especially road saddles.

I've been putting together stuff for my friends lately, and I normally bring a bag of leftover saddles so they can find something they like.

Riding a padded saddle doesn't hurt when I ride. But after the ride, sometimes a day later, I get achy balls. It's pretty painful.

Same with an overly padded pair of shorts.

My doctor says I need a cut-out saddle. I'm going to verify that I don't have trouble with Brooks saddles, because I have two or three.

The only thing that I've found that disagrees w/ me bum is a Brooks B17. Had one for a bit over a year and never did like it.

Turbo's, Flite's, Concor's, Rolls, etc. are all good for me.

Concor came first and had a great following, then along came the "next gotta-have-it best saddle on the planet" Turbo. The style-conscious ditched the Concor and went with the new kid on the block. They weren't going to admit the old Concor was comfier and much cooler looking; they extolled the Turbo and millions were sold. Personally, I love Concors too. No issues with comfort and the up-swept tail is an advantage in seated climbing.

However, anything hurts my butt after 180 miles. I found that number was my rear end's limit during my first STP in 2004.

The CODA that came on my R500T and the old sprung mattress Schwinn saddles on the Continentals in the early 70's both were bad for me. I stick with Brooks since 1978.

okay i'll weigh in: i've tried an awful lot of saddles. a good side benefit of collecting / rehabbing several 1980s bicycles

the concor supercorsa is the most uncomfortable saddle (to my backside) i've ridden so far. followed by brooks b-17 narrow and i didn't love the brooks professional. in fact a few years ago i gave up and sold a handful of different brooks saddles i had really tried to like on my bikes and my wife's bikes (a few B-17s, a Pro, Swift, B-17 Narrow etc)

for me i really like the Selle Flite Ti for my racing bikes and Turbos for touring and everything else. my wife prefers avocet racing series III on all her bikes. i have a nice reddish brown univega branded saddle that rides great too.

Had a Brooks 17 for 5 years and decided that for thirty miles or less I can ride anything. After thirty miles the Brooks hurts. I have found narrow thin saddles with thin padding work great for me.

All saddles hurt, just toughen up and ignore the pain and keep on riding... Saddles are only meant to support half your weight, your legs are meant to support the rest.

Thanks for your KGOTO (Keen grasp of the obvious). Nice sentiment. But saddle selection is highly personal and part of refining your fit.

Consistent with opinion elsewhere, I'm OK with Brooks if set up correctly and on a bike with a little less drop. For me, the reality is that the Fizik saddles and clones work the best.

You don't have to pedal a horse.
