If I had ten grand to spend, I'd buy THREE bikes (cf road, fs 29er mtb, and a FAST 'bent). A three-grand bike in any of those categories would give all the performance I could use, and $10k bikes tend to be either too pretty or too fragile for me to use as daily riders. 'Course, that's just my take on it. You're entitled to your own opinion, no matter how wrong it is. ;-)

ps - second thought, I might just keep the bikes I have and spend the ten grand on a nice cycling vacation in Europe. Hmmm....

I wouldn't spend $10,000 on one bike. I would buy 3 or 4 with that.

You're wrong there my friend. I know that Dario Pegoretti has worked with Columbus, and Dedaccai before that, to have tubes drawn to his specifications. I'm pretty sure that Richard Sachs and probably Sacha White do the same.

My thoughts exactly.
But really - a bike is essentially a bunch of tubes welded together . . . And it isn't as if you are getting a really unique looking bike either . . .
Not to say that your choice is invalid, Brian - just that I don't get it. Each to their own, I suppose

I know some people that have and regularly ride $10k bikes and now that seems almost rational. It's a sickness to be enjoyed.

Would end up short of $10K (unless Campagnolo EPS is really expensive and you opted for that) but arguably be as nice as you can get.

That's exactly it, to each their own . . . one man's treasure is another man's trash. You can't criticize what someone finds value with. Personally I think it's pretty absurd to spend 10k on a plastic, disposable, cookie-cutter bike, but obviously some folks find value in them. Go figure.
To each their own.

Personally, I think my next bike might be one of Mike's TIG-welded Boulder Bikes. But that's not in the OP's price range!

if you are already gonna spend 10k you might as well spend another 8k and get a s-works-mclaren venge, if you can find one since they are currently unavailable. sell off the di2 and go with sram red and good to go
