Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Recommend me some tights!

I need some suggestions for some cool weather tights, down to mid 30s in temps. There is next to no selection in the local shops around me so I cant really go try some on or get a feel for the material. I'd like to keep it under $125. I'm 5'8" @ 175lbs, my pants size is 34 waist 30 inseam.

Thanks
Steve

I also got Performance tights and I have been wearing them for six years and they are holding up well. I got a women's model because they were on sale. Fits fine and keeps me warm, and a great bargain. I wear them over my regular bibs.

I wear some thicker Under Armour. It breathes well, but they have not asked me to do any cool commercials yet.

Sugoi Firewall 220. I've got older sugoi tights without the wind blocking material and they have served me well. They fit great, good compression and I hardly know they are there when riding. Looking to upgrade to these for colder temps. If you think these might be too warm, check out the midzero tights which are more similar to what I have.

I use Nike running tights in all temps and they work very well. I wear a set of bibs under them, and sometimes leg warmers and long socks if its very cold, and I never feel like I need more. They are very cheap. Something like 30 bucks, and I bought them at Dicks last year.

I see you already ordered some, but these from Wiggle UK have been fantastic for me, and they get good reviews from Wiggles customers and from other reviewers.

+1 on Performance Triflex tights
I had them this winter, very comfortable, down to 25. I did not ride in lower temperatures.

I've been using Pearl Izumi thermal knee warmers with ordinary cycling shorts all winter. I'm much happier with this than the tights I'd been using the past couple of years.

This is what I'm hoping for. I dont see me riding in the 30s much so I dont want too warm of tights. I get chilly in the upper 50s and thats really because of wind.
