Well if they do, I hope they change the crankset.
Blue + celeste? I just took a shower and that makes me want to take another one.

All i want to say is this, i feel better know hearing all the responses in such a short time, and eventually i will get over it. This is the forth bike that has been stolen from me in NYC, the other three being a IRO, a old 1980's Fuji Road Bike (which was nice), a ****ty mountain beater bike which i didn't think anyone would bother stealing but they stole it anyways. Everytime, my bikes were stolen, they were always at night except for the mountain bike. I think for anyone reading this who has a nice bike and wants to protect it, keep an eye on it or keep it close. FYI the American Lock looks something like that only with a longer shackle. It retails for 30 dollars and i heard it was really good, people have been know to pick the kryptonite locks or drill them out. American can be drilled out as well https://www.americanlock.com/solid_bo...y_padlocks.jsp.

Next time, use a real lock.

A ($70+) dollar chain is only as good as it's (In this case $30) weakest link. I'm puzzled because I thought when you bought an NYC chain it came with a Krypto mini-u to close it...

Your cog is slipping.
Dude...if this is the fourth bike you've had stolen in NYC, where did you get off being so "all-knowing" about bike security in your previous thread? I'm really not really trying to start **** but come on now...

You must drink a lot of hateraide because, all your comments are very smarmy. It's a beautiful day in nyc today, i wonder if it rains where you live. Instead of haunting these threads with negative comments, im going to go out and enjoy the day.

can i derail the thread a touch....so what is the best lock, like, ever?
just curious if such a lock has been deemed "the best"....
i personally use a krypto U-lock combined with a cable. that plus renters insurance.
ps do any of you actually register your bikes? was thinking once im done dialing in all my bikes, i would take pics and go to the fire dept to get them registered. you get a little license plate looking sticker thingy too yay

Your cog is slipping.
Have a good day riding the subway, champ. It's nice here too. As soon as I finish working for the day, I'm going out to ride my expensive bike and not get it stolen.

hairnet, illdthedj and I agree that locking such stupid expensive bikes is not an option, regardless which lock you use. However we applaud your perserverance, delacrank. The only question left to answer is: which lock and chain combination you will try next?

i wonder if there is a gps tracking device with an iphone app for bikes. like, you drop it into the frame or something. maybe into the rear triangle, small enough to drop in, would be a ***** to get out.
and if there isn't...
i was thinking it would be cute to design "This bike is protected by *insert bogus name* GPS tracking device" stickers. perhaps most bike thieves would call "bull****" but it might scare off some of the more gullible ones.... idunno.

I remember the thread where he talked about getting a bike like this, and I remember everyone telling him this would happen, and I also remember him being a dick when people said this. If it takes 2400 bucks (about half of what I have to pay for a semester of college) to learn a lesson and accept advice from others, you have some serious issues.
If the OP isn't trollin', I don't pity his loss, I pity his stupidity.

I remember you. I even commented on your post.
Sucks about your bike.
However, with that being said...my man this is your fourth bike being stolen? Fourth? Sh** I ride a Kilo TT and I am even paranoid when I lock it up outside when I am at work. Also your lock choice....I don't care what YouTube video you throw out, it is still not a good lock. I have the Kryptonite Fahgettaboudit U Lock and as heavy as it is, I still think it can be broken within a few minutes.
$2400 you had wrapped in that? I would had a body guard sitting by it for that type of money.
No sympathy here. Trolling it has to be.
