garmin connect data storage
Not sure if this is the place to ask. I was wondering if anyone here can tell me if all of my garmin data from rides that I have downloaded is stored at their website or if it is a file on my pc.
The reason I ask is that I am having lots of problems with "bsod's" blue screens of death since downloading windows sp2 service pack. I have managed to get all of my photo's transfered to an external hard drive but I would rather not lose my garmin data either if I can help it.
I am considering doing a reboot to factory settings and I realize that if done, I lose all saved files on my pc. Can someone respond or would a garmin rep be a better search.
THanks in advance.

Garmin connect stores data at the website. However, I recommend that you make your own backups of the data. The data is stored on the device in the activities folder. Just copy those files to a local folder that is backed up. If you have never deleted files from your device, they may still be on the device.
Now, about your files on your PC, take your current hard drive out of the PC and place it in an external enclosure and use another PC (or put the drive in an open slot of another PC) to copy the required files to another location, either another hard drive or DVD's.
