The sound of wind, annoying?
It's never really bugged me before until today, but I feel like I go faster when I don't hear it...? (psychological factor? -I can't verify that statement with my head turned sideways)
The wishhy noise is actually pretty annoying. are my ears mishaped -genetically non-aerodynamic? lol. Are you guys hearing the wind as loud as I am...?
I know, it seems like (is) a dumb question.

Well, ignoring whether it's a silly question of not (

I rode without a beanie for the first time this season about two weeks ago, and definitely was surprised at how loud the wind is, lol.

I generally can't hear the wind over my pounding heart beat and lungs gasping for air so I wouldn't know.

i find it annoying too. been thinking maybe some loose earplugs, like i occasionally use when riding my motorcycle...

haha, well i know tailwinds are nice and all with the less noise, but any proven (even in warm temps!) way to just muffle mother nature?
her yackin' is making me feel slower than mach 1 lol.
who rides with caps and stuff in the summer/spring?
(not really a fan of earphones and music - going from a rocky music montage to bach kills the mood...)

OK this is weird but I'll admit to it. When I have my fairing on I love the sound of the wind whistling around which starts at around 22-24 mph. Somehow it helps me imagine I'm going fast and gives me a psychological boost, so even when I have a headwind and start hearing it at slower speeds I tend to crank it up and try to keep it going until my legs give out.

Yup, I hate it to, the only positive of riding in the cold is no wind noise because I wear a fleece ear wrap, I had some old headphones the hooked over the back of my ear and sat on the outside / tops of ears and I could hear music and cars etc.. And they no wind, they got nasty after a few summers so I tossed them and bought a Bluetooth head set that works great except for all the dam wind noise...

Actually, in my own case, I've found that helmets can make a world of difference. I wore a Bell Volt for about a year. For me, it was HOT in the summer and it was absolutely the loudest helmet I've ever worn in a head wind. I got a Kask Mojita last week and it's a whole different ballgame. It's cooler, more comfortable (to me) and is way, way, way quieter in the wind. Love it.

If you have your glasses under the straps then the straps will produce much more wind noise. Try putting the glasses over the straps.

I never think about it until I'm cooling down in my subdivision close to the house on the way back.
But that's usually a combination of not being right next to traffic anymore and the loud tire/engine noise that entails, along with my head being more on a swivel.

Yup. I ride in wind a lot and really windy days are far more exhausting mentally (and of course physically with headwinds). +1 on the tinnitus (thanks to bad drug interaction years ago) but luckily only in the left. Really windy days warrant a band or cap covering the ears to deflect. Solves the problem easily and inexpensively...

I like the sound of the wind, goes well with the sound of the tyres humming on the road. On a really windy day its not the sound, but the sheer resistance that gets annoying.

It was pretty windy today, but the noise didn't really bother me. I think it's like anything else, if I'm feeling crummy everything bothers me more.
I only hear mine when someone reminds me of it. Thanks. Actually, it only ever goes away in airplanes.
