Heres another thread on this topic.
I guess im lost
Here is my dillema. I have a fuji sports 10 that i have converted into a rain bike with full fenders and SS. IT has 661 tubing.
I just ran into a great deal on a Raleigh Olympian with 502 tubing. It fits meet well and i believe is the same size as the fuji.
I cant decide which to keep. I could redo the raleigh and sell the fuji....although i dont have any problems with the fuji.
which is the better quality. THe Raleigh will take some TLC to get cleaned and redone but i plan to do that regardless if it goes or if it stays.
I think i read that the 661 fuji tubes were bottom of the line in the fuji offerings. Not sure how it compares to the 502 tubing of the raleigh.
Thoughts? IM thinking of just cleaning and selling the raleigh and banking the cash unless someone can convince me otherwise. I realize both are nothing special

Asking which to keep based on the tubing type is asking the wrong question. That should be one of your last criteria.

thats about the response i expected 
Ill give both a chance...figure out which i like best and which fits best......and choose from there.
I was thinking build quality over fit/personal enjoyment.

Build quality is not a non-factor, but it doesn't necessarily correlate to the tubing choice. Plenty of bikes have been been with over-heated, top-quality tubing, and plenty of beautifully built bikes have been constructed of "lesser" tubing.
