C'dale Hooligan Alternate?
Love the Hooligan, especially the 3sp IGH version with disk brakes and lefty fork.
Any alternatives out there? Obviously wouldn't be a lefty fork, but how 'bout a IGH 20"-wheeled bike with disk brakes? Folding or no...

I've seen some Asian stuff out on the web,but none of it available Stateside(unless you want to pay ridiculous shipping). The Bully's the only one of heard of here, and that was only a bit piece in _Bicycle Times_.

Mconlonx Bike Friday has more than the models listed on the web site. They will custom build almost anything you want if they can get the parts you want. The only way you can find out is to call them on their 800 number and tell the person you talk to what kind of bike you want built. The person will go from there and tell you what it will cost to have what you want and make changes as you want. Then it is your decision to decide if it meets your needs, price point or not. They are not pushy or high pressure and everone who works there loves bicycles. The also have pre owned bikes that they sell that may also fit your needs. I called to buy a new Pocket Rocket in 1994 and got talked into buying an existing bike that was traded in because it fit my needs. They gave me full warranty on it and a new paint job for about 66% of the cost of the new one I was going to order. I still own and ride the bike 18 years later. It has been to Costa Rica and France in its life and has been across the USA once. It isn't the only bike I own and I have tweaked and updated it over the years but it still the same basic bike I bought in 1994. Very nice people to deal with and I am still on Bike Fridays News Letter. Bike Friday likes to consider all the owners as family. It is not a place you can window shop their offerings and they do not have a warehouse full of bikes waiting to be sold but the bikes are made individually as needed. Roger

+1) call Bike Friday And tell them what floats your boat..
they have 8 different frame sizes, .. top tube length . most folders sell just one.
someone didnt like the Built to Order bike they specified, finished shade of color,
so I snapped it Up. a medium, 56 , just right !
Disc Brake; BB7, Rohloff R hub, Schmidt 20"delux Center lock disc dyno-hub
Chris King Grip nut Headset,
Alloy folding steering mast, Cane Ck thudbuster LT seat post (with weight appropriate elastomers)
main frame spec: heavy rider upgrade [features front triagle using their tandem jigs for assembly.
I added mudguards , their front pannier rack , my pedals saddle, and a different (trekking) handlebar, I had.
and installed wired LED headlight and taillight, and lock [Abus folding link lock] carry pouch.

In Europe, there is the shaft-drive Gsus bike from Beixo. I can't find the english page anymore. It looks like they still sell it and may have renamed it the g- bike.

Hey, a belated thanks for all the replies!
We're a Trek shop, not a C'dale dealer, needed an alternative because of customer special request. Went over a couple options with him, then he found a too-good-to-pass deal on a leftover Hooligan...
