Welcome back to the game ValyG. Shovel, it's frustrating to get marked out of a race, but it sounds like you're getting closer to the sprinter. We should talk some future strategy.

Great read, Shovel. Is there any video out there of those races (CDR)? I was going to say, it sounds like the bike is there. You sure are!

Valygrl, you did the right thing with the "shut up!". You did the right things in the race, too. Awesome, girl, awesome. Please, don't let me be in a race with you and Colonelmom!

The thing is, he had nobody up the road. There were no series points. He decided to make his race marking me and forgive his own results. I just don't understand it. Unless its personal.

No, I don't take back thinking she should shut up, but I should shut up myself and not say it. I'm going to have to race with all these people again. Someday I'm gonna flick my elbow and that chick is gonna be on my wheel and be all 'no way I'm not pulling for that bxxch who told me to shut up.'

Get.
Off.
My.
LAWN!
AARP sent me another card. That's like 10 of them. You'd think those old farts wouldn't have this kind of endurance. Or maybe they are just forgetting they sent me the other nine.
Stage race next weekend. Or not. 3 entries so far in the 45 1/2/3.

I yell because I can't hear, anyway: "HOLD YOUR LINE **^%!!!" +1 on the finding another sport. The heat and the fire thing, right?

Nice work Colonelmom, Racer Ex, valygrl, gsteinb, and shovelhd. shovelhd, it's a shame this guy is playing this game.
CU Research Center Crit. Cat 4. Same course valygrl did, with some wind and threatening skies. At least I pre-registered, as they split the field. The poor guys that didn't, had to wait till we were done.
They blew the whistle, and I decided to do some weird stutter-step before clipping in. Not sure where that came from... Towards the back, and as valygrl said, some holes, but if you rode the course, you knew where they were. I could work to the front, but I need to learn to stay there. More than anything, I was able to work on my pack riding/handling. I gained some confidence. The wheel I really wanted to follow, and be on ended up winning. He shot a gap, and I thought that's when I should follow him, but... I thought, instead of reacting. Way too late. Not that I actually had anything, but I would have tried to hang with the boy. Pack finish.
Sunday was another college crit, in Colorado Springs. Another pack finish. 180 turn, straight, chicane, right, downhill, sweeping right, uphill, left, straight, then back to the 180 corner. which was nowhere near as bad as I thought. Again, I could get to the front, but I really need to work on staying there. With the 180, if you weren't near the front, it was hell accelerating out. Not every lap, but some. A lot of cornering skills were learned today.
I didn't have results to speak of, but I learned a lot about myself, and how I can ride the bike better, plus I have some more homework to do.

Wait, so if I race masters I post it here, but if I race category it goes in the other forum?
What about if the masters are combined with the 3's and women, what then?
I'm so confused.

I just figured I'm of age, and this is where it should be posted.
