I've never seen one of the Hirame pump heads in person. Everyone I know uses ones similar to this:

Like carleton, I have come adept at handling pumping one handed with the same head.
I have seen a Hirame in action. Does look impressive, but can I justify the cost when I can manage with the Silca head?

for the few of us that have no clue what you all are talking about. Can someone explain? do you all have to hold the pump adapter onto the valve so it does not pop off the valve? or is it something else?

The holes in disks are small, so you need a special adapter to get a pump in it. The old style hashpipe like carleton posted doesn't have anything to hold it onto the valve stem. So you, or a buddy, has to hold on your wheel.

I didn't know there was an alternative to the crack pipe.
That hirame thing looks cool, but damn that's a lot of money for an adapter. My floor pump cost less than that. $60, wow.
