My Beautiful Regular Ride
A few views of my regular ride. Around 26 miles. Have done it 30-40 times this season so far.
Never get tired of seeing the seasons change. The beach was packed only a few weeks ago.

Nice looking ride. I'd do it often too. No cars in the four photos. Is this close to what you experience?

The diversity of scenery within 26 miles is also amazing. Nice ride!

Crescent Beach? The Spurwink Church? You must live in Cape Elizabeth. One of my brothers lives there, too. Nice part of the world.

Being retired I have the advantage of cycling during the week. Traffic varies. Today there seemed to be a lot (6) of big trucks. Perhaps there is work going on elsewhere that has re-routed them. Weekends can be a surprise because that is when I suddenly realize I am not the only cyclist in the world. Also people going and coming from work make those hours not as pleasant. There are places where I could wish for a wider bike lane, or rather, a bike lane. Usually on the curving hills where they are most needed. One pet peeve is my town spending close to a million dollars for a pedestrian/runner path and not doing anything for us road bike people...like improving the shoulders. All in all I can't complain.

Riding in coastal New England is great. Many pretty, quiet country roads, surprisingly little traffic and you can ride year round, and yes, it's mostly flat.
