Appears to have been dark maybe transparent red at least on the head tube panel (remnants of the paint remain)

can you get a non glare photo of the seatstay configuration/caps and the bike as a whole with the wheels in the dropouts? the serial number placement and caps looks like an old Atala that an Ex had. But, it's hard to tell from the glare. Though the red paint at the head tube would nix that if its original.

Atala is a good possibility, I even have a badge somewhere I can match up! I will post new pictures after re assembly -edit- verified that the Atala badge lines up perfectly with the holes!

And the winner is ATALA

even the serial number is within a digit or two.

I was going to say Lygie. They were built at Atala and had a lot of similar details, and did full chrome versions. I'm not sure I've ever seen a track model?

Congrats on the Atala frame. I didn't know they came with red head tubes I've only seen ones that are full chrome. They ride beautifully, I'm pretty jealous. Now your gonna build it up with full Campagnolo, right?

record fast ID, what a beauty. Hope you got it for a song. Amazing that you have a spare head badge. Serendipitous!

Very nice!
I imagine this is a pretty rare bird. I didn't even know Atala did track bikes or chrome bikes at all so I never would have guessed it's an Atala. Great work by the BF members here on the quick ID!
Can we see a full-on drive side pic of this beauty?
