Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Wait, I thought we in the SF Bay Area were missing Winter because it was all going up north. Now you are saying it's spring in late January in Seattle?

Oh, and go Broncos.

Or earthquakes. Or hurricanes. Or whatever. We've all got stuff to deal with, I guess...

We've been having summer for the last month, but we finally had winter yesterday. It was cold. Really cold. Like in the 60's.

This morning it was back to summer, but by noon it was winter again. Just checked the weather and it said winter for the next week at least with some rain on Monday.

My 5-year-old is very perceptive. She noticed how several flowers had begun to bloom in the front yard. (We live in the SF Bay Area.) "Look, dad, the flowers think it's Spring already," she said today. Silly flowers.

Yeah, I rode yesterday and it was brutal...lower 60s. Back to the 70s today I think. I really wonder why people live up north.

Denver had 13 days of 50+ degree days in January. I have a feeling we'll pay the price in Feb.

.
...the winter daphne is just opening in my back yard, but it seems like the flower and leaf buds are swelling on a lot of the other stuff. Camellias started off late this year.
