Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It'd be cooler if it said Campagnolo on it and was an Italian brand

True OCP would go for a chronograph with as many subdials as possible; not because they serve any sort of function or would see any use, but because they look damn cool.

That said, I wear a Tissot chronograph.

T6 is unbelievable. It's what I wanted to begin with. I have seen them for as cheap as $600. One big problem for me, is that I have skinny wrists, and the face on them is pretty big. All the hikers say the Observer fits slender wirsts much better.

I think I true cycling ocp would be going for one of those top end HRM, one that also has cadence, power, altitiude, speed (from gps), makes cups of coffee...

My fave - "the watch has no date feature so you don't have to worry about setting the date every couple months".

Now that's convenient!

I have a small watch collection, and used to spend even more time on watch boards than I do now on cycling boards. I've seen some real winners over the years, but this is right up there.

I have to believe a true OCP would only wear something with a Ti bracelet and carbon fiber face, preferably with multiple chrono dials as mentioned above, and maybe extra timezones set to Paris or Rome time, depending on the major race of the week. Not as attention-grabbing as a rose-gold Patek, but you have to draw the line somewhere when you're wearing Assos.

I have an Oregon Outbreaker. It has everything you mentions but power and GPS. I have no idea how to use most of the features. It also predicts the weather. I don't use it.

I have that watch but it's not Ti, just all black. Not as much style points but it's lighter than Ti. That watch is unbelievable. i prefer the steel watch to be one with the chronograph, illuminated bezel, automatic, swiss, carbon face, display back, etc. etc

Here we see the difference between Dura Ace and Record. DA gets it's name on a Fossil, Record would be on a Rolex

you OCPers are just not as OCP as
you think you are.
Now, as much as I like a good Suunto
(I own 2, spyder and mosquito)
the real OCP watch is this:

there is a CF colnago watch but I can't find an image of it (yet).
