Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My first road bike ever is still being shipped. I expect to receive my new (used but in a great condion) by Friday. Its a Colorado Legend TI.
Of course some might say Seven, Moot or so are better. My Colorado still has to be much better ride than my folding Downtube Nova.

Hello all,
I'm a relative Newbie to this game (@48yo) however I am very much enjoying my new found 'hobby'! Hopefully these images post OK. I've just finished my first ground up build with the De Rosa and I'm very happy with how it's all come together. The Norco can now hang in the shed for wet days.

I have an old school 1981 miyata 710 that's been completely re-done. I love it. Just hit 8000 miles!

You are much better off buying a good used bike than a new one of these

Now you need to buy a DeLorean as your car. Then you can have 2 time machines.

That's a hell of a spacer stack? next frame size larger didn't fit?

This is the largest size frame they make. It's a conservative start. I'll likely cut it down some more after I ride it for a bit and get situated but it's better than cutting it first and wishing I had it back!

Brand spanking new, 2016 Felt Z5.
Full 5800 Shimano 105 groupset, except the brake calipers were felt branded and I put on ultegra calipers.
Breaking it in on a 50mi ride tomorrow, super excited.

I was hoping to get one used. They use to go for $99 new, which was a really good deal for an aluminum framed bike. I had one years ago and it rode decent ... like your signature ... I miss my old bike. However, I do know the components are not that great. I figure I could always upgrade them later. With that said I've also been keeping an eye out for other used bikes that might be good.

Do you have a local bike coop nearby? Anything would be better than the Denali.

"The value of your bike is somewhat subjective" What he said. Your bike looks rad if you enjoy riding it its a keeper.

It is worth a little bit more now. I went and upgraded most of it other than the frame. (5800 105, ultegra 6800 wheels, tires, bar tape, stem, seat post, saddle, computer, etc)

That's a great looking bike! Just replacing the rear tire with a black rubber would have been an improvement.

So far I narrowed down my first road bike to either a 2015 Specialized Allez, or Allez Sport. Can't wait to put it through it's paces, at the park, and do some long distance riding.

First post! I thought it would be fitting to do it here.
Bought just the frame and just recently finished the build.

Here's my 2007 Lemond Etape. I bought it used with mismatching wheels (Alex AT450 front, Sun CR18 rear) but just recently upgraded the wheels to these Mavic Aksium and it feels like a whole 'nother bike. The bar tape was also pretty worn so I replaced it with Zipp CX service course tape over fizik gel pads.

Just picked this up Saturday. Logged 28.5 miles on it today, and can't wait to get more time on the road. 2014 Cannondale Synapse 6 Tiagra C. Tweaking the fit as I go, and getting a few accessories for it this week. Hoping to get a century ride in by this time next year. This summer I'm already looking into some 30-80 mile rides.
