Brompton forks - two lugs on the back?

Hey guys,

I bought myself a Ti fork, but haven't mounted it yet.
I just noticed, that besides the lug for the fender stabilizer, there is also another lug on the other leg of the fork.
My older steel fork doesn't have that. Out of curiosity - what's it for?
Is that a Ti only thing? Or a build year or model thing?

Are you talking about the hole on the left side(non-drive)?
I think it's for fenderless models(E type); to bolt on a protector
against cable rub.

same on the steel fork Even with the Mudguards I get paint wear at that point of contact..
