Congrats.

Stupid question about Strava.(I'm not a user) Is there a way that people can cheat it? A friend of mine posts his to Facebook all the time and I look at it and think, "There's no way you (at 55 years of age) are averaging 18 MPH on your mountain bike with knobby tires."

Today my tape arrived so I wrapped the project's bars with the Velox cloth tape. I'm putting my old Bianchi back together as a 2x5 10 speed and I decided to go cloth bar tape for old school appeal.

Red is TOTALLY outside my comfort zone but I think this really works. What do you think?

I think the red tape looks ok, it'll get dirty soon though. This might be being picky, and I know you're using cloth, but if you had a little extra piece to wrap around the hood clamp you'd be all set.

I completely agree cloth = dirt.

Now, I wrapped the bars like that on purpose because I was under the impression that's how they used to do back in the day. On my modern bike I would never leave a gap in the wrap like that lol.

OH BTW, I almost forgot... These bars are old 3ttt bars that are no kidding 37cm... narrow as it gets. Even WITH that gap and wrapping LEAN I still barely had enough to cover the bars with the 2 rolls I ordered. No trimming on that tape heh. Maybe I should get the 10ft roll of cloth tape and wrap the crap out of it.

Went to the LBS to get a test antares today. Feels pretty good. I like the shape and how flat it is.

I recommend taking it for as long a ride as you can. I bought an Antares after a relatively short test ride and wish I hadn't. After a few long days in the saddle in a row, this thing becomes painfully uncomfortable for me.

There is DigitalEPO.com however, I ride with a group of older guys on a rare occasion. I'd say the average age of the group 60+ and they hustle - pacelining and everything. The average speed on road bikes is quite high. When it's my turn to pull, we're usually going around 22-25mph and they're all breathing down my neck wanting me to go faster. If the guy is in shape, I'd imagine 18mph isn't too far off base, even on mtb tires.

I currently run the Antares VS on two of my bikes and am a fan.

Noticed that my brand new pasela PT is already starting to crack at the sidewall, I'll probably just boot it and ride it till it dies.

Today I was on a conference call while riding my bike to work. I dropped the call and was fiddling with my phone to rejoin when I hit a parked car.

One of those days...

Haha, no footage and I'm fine other than a sore leg. I tore my hood and bar tape though.

Everyone at work was like, "are you ok?!"
Me - "no, I ripped my bar tape!"

So, if you didn't use bar tape, this problem wouldn't exist.

Haha, I won't lie, I thought of those posts almost instantly.

I was on my road bike though, so I need the bar tape to wrap up the cables...of course, my road bike is kind of a race bike and I wasn't in a race, so now I don't know what to do. I think I need to just throw it away and get a new bike, seems like the only logical resolution.

just tell people you were and you missed first and got second as you slid face down across the finish.

it was the evo? if you look at carbon wrong it must be incinerated and replaced with the newest iteration immediately.

think its time for a willy-er

My cohort at work said I should have rolled under the car and started shouting that he hit me, which I found pretty funny.

It was the EVO. I'd like a new bike, but I'm trying to wait a bit longer (and sell my Fuji road bike first since I never ride it) - luckily, everything seems to be fine.

To be completely honest, my first check was the new wheels, the second was to make sure I didn't tear my kit.
