Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Watching the weather channel yesterday and the forecast for rain for parts of Florida was being given in feet.

Is the NE forecast in feet of rain, too?

No. That's Hermione. Not the same name.

The organizers of our New Hope to Brooklyn jaunt on Sunday say the ride will not be cancelled. I may take the touring bike and do one of the shorter routes. Could be interesting. Just wonder what they are going to do if Christie bans all non-essential travel. Should have a better idea of probable conditions come last Friday.

Caught my niece holding one as she walked out of the restroom; commenting on how nice it smelled! I notified her what we do with them. She put it down promptly. I assume the maintenance cart was in the ladies room at the time, unattended.

Went to a open mike jazz concert in San Fran years ago. A young Japanese singer, a lovely lady, was singing that song. She had memorized the words perfectly but knew no English. When she sang she went, "you say potato I say potato, you say tomato I say tomato , potato potato tomato tomato , let's call the whole thing off" we all laughed despite ourselves. Poor gal, she hadn't a clue.

Who says cycling is non-essential? Send him to talk to me.
