Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I should be ingesting enough already. But apparently it's not being retained.

Wasn't me, painting requires no sharp objects, though there was that one time trying to open a gallon of paint with a screw driver...

I think you indicated you take several prescription drugs currently. IF one of them is a statin, that COULD be why you're low on D, because statins control cholesterol which is involved with your body's natural vitamin D production. You might want to discuss those conflicts with your doctor.

As well, fat is essential for vitamin D absorption. If you habitually eat a low fat diet that COULD also be working against your D.

Again, the sun is your friend. Get as much as you can.

I'm pretty sure that the sun is a factor is another way too. These days we screen out the UV and deactivate the Vitamin D producing capability of the sun. Tough choice: vitamin deficiency or skin cancer.

Yup, D presents some tough dilemmas. Over the years we've been indoctrinated to avoid fat and cholesterol, but today those viewpoints are changing. So how far can we go? How much is too much? They're both involved with our D.

Rode the rollers for the first time yesterday. It wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it would be. Took about five minutes to get the hang of it. I did fall off the side once, mind, but apart from a small fred tattoo there was no damage. Might try again this afternoon.

Steroids, not statins.

My car is now officially out of comision. Going car free, we'll see how it goes. Ordered myself a cargo trailer for kitty/grocery hauling duties. Ended up going for this one.

That's a hell of a trailer - you could fit a lot of cats in there. Damn near fit a mattress.
