I can now get back on the bike.

After 13 months, 1162 pages, 435,000 words; I have a manuscript.
I wrote a book, er well I thought up a lot of it and was lead through a lot of it.
It is not a faith based book per se, but it deals with people who have deep faith, diminished faith, or no faith, and what happens when their paths cross.

What started off as a check mark on a bucket list turned into an obsession; and possible new career.
(We'll just have to see about that)

And although I was not completely off the bike my riding time was severely diminished;I have 13 pounds to prove it.

But I must admit I cut out of a lot of things.
I have 2 seasons of the walking dead setting on the DVR.
Stayed away from forums. (Didn't even lurk)
Tuned out of the presidential campaign. (No loss)
And pretty much spent every free moment sitting at the keyboard.

The next chapter in this saga is trying to find a literary agent.
Depending on my success with that their just might be more to follow.
Who knows?

But it has been an adventure.

Congratulations on your gumption and fortitude in sticking with writing. As far as staying off the bike, at this point only an injury could do that for me. Welcome back.

Dear Sir or Madam, will you read my book?
It took me years to write, will you take a look?
It's based on a novel by a man named Lear,
And I need a job,
So I want to be a paperback writer,
Paperback writer.

It's a dirty story of a dirty man,
And his clinging wife doesn't understand.
His son is working for the Daily Mail
It's a steady job,
But he wants to be a paperback writer,
Paperback writer.
Paperback writer, paperback writer.

It's a thousand pages, give or take a few.
I'll be writing more in a week or two.
I could make it longer if you like the style.
I can change it 'round,
And I want to be a paperback writer,
Paperback writer.

Quite an accomplishment!
Congrats.
I have wanted to talk thru a docu-biography/memoir in a coherent format, with speech to text 1st draft. Had expected an effort less than full time for 13 months, but have no publishing expectations - beyond the closest 10 relatives in the family (upon my death, to avoid drama). I need to investigate the cost of 'self-publishing' a few copies.

That Walking Dead has taken a serious turn. That alone made me gain 12 pounds, I was depressed!

Welcome back and congratulations.

I always thought it was "clean" wife.

This made me laugh. In the pilot's opening scene, where our protagonist unholsters his Colt Python and draws down on a little girl zombie and plugs her in the brainbox, I knew that this entire show had a serious tone to it...

To the OP, way to go! I hope that your family members read and appreciate your manuscript. PG
