Lights. Saddles. Crappy, heavy seatposts in various sizes. Chainrings, from my fixed gear experimentation days.
For a while, I was really excited about wheelbuilding, and had a small collection of hubs that I wanted to build up. I realized that I'm really just too lazy to spend much time building wheels, and sold them off.

Maybe lights. . . Not enough disposable income here.
I do think all you guys need to get together for a swap meet or flea market.

Tools.
I just purged my parts bin. Lots of chainrings in sizes I will never use again. Cable housing. Derailleur cables. Saddles (None of which are sold at performance, and too short return policies). Spokes. Cantilever brakes.

So I am checking around amazon this morning to see what kind of deals may be offered for Amazon Prime and WOW I was surprised. Continental 4000S Grand Prix All Season for $35.00 each. I just bought 25 of them as i could not pass up that price..I never seen them that low before. So after i just bought them, about a hour later, the price went up .

Pretty off topic. I have thought about writing an autobiography, kids say I should. Short story...
Born in Oakland CA in 1961 to activist parents.
Lots of news stories about mom.
Family joined Peace Corps in 1970s. I was 9. We were at that time the only family in Peace Corps going to Africa.
We went to Liberia.
I had a chimpanzee, was the only white kid they had seen, surfed with cows and lots of different things.
I had a motorcycle and road with chimp on back - age 10. Parents were crazy, whatever. I didn't die.
Chimp was moved to USA and became a "famous" talker.
We adopted a Liberian older brother.
We moved to Kenya.
I went to a boarding school (Rift Valley Academy) cornerstone laid by Teddy Roosevelt.
It was at 7,200 feet. I played rugby and got into cycling.
I graduated from HS in 1979 from Kenya.
My adopted brother came to the USA legally.
He was not allowed to stay because he came legally, where if he came illegally he would become legal
(yea what I wrote)
I was into cycling.
I worked for a guy and got paid in bike stuff. The guy was significant in industry. He had about 1M into bike stuff.
I road from SoCal to DC to take a letter to Reagan to let my brother stay - turned 21 on trip in Tulsa.
Got media coverage, got bill passed.
That was an exciting decade + 2 years.

So, your bother was eventually allowed to stay (legally)?

See - if he had come illegally, he would have been allowed to stay legally through the Reagan amnesty program, but as he came here legally, he was not eligible for that. We tried to get him illegal (student visa expired), but that didn't work as he came in legally.

My son has my bug, not as bad, so he is acquiring bikes.
At home...10 or so bikes and another 5 frames. I got rid of about 20 and 20 wheels.
Last year, we were up to 30 wheels (not sets) at home, but most were not owned by me.
I'm actively trying to cut down.
I've posted before I was in the bike industry. I was living on a ranch working for bike stuff as a kid. My employer sold his aerospace company and was a bike guy. At one time he bought a bunch of Colnagos and we opened every box and took the best ones and sold the rest. He had about 10 Wizards, and shelves of in-box inventory. About 100 bikes. He built a 10,000sqft steel building to hold it all and some cars and machine shop. I got paid in stuff/bikes.
I got so much stuff I bought a travel trailer and filled my pick-up and most of it with bike stuff. It was a bad disease. I ended up working at that company he sold and commuted to work. I later downsized but kept some stuff. I got away from cycling and became a soccer dude officiating and later soccer dad and during that time got rid of more stuff. Then I had my son. He wanted to do hill climbs with mom for fun.
Age 8 he got into carbon fiber wheels. It didn't take long for my relapse, although not as bad this time. Now I buy stuff to use for his bike. Some is cool, I've posted elsewhere, most is for a purpose / to race with. I also became somewhat an assistant team mechanic/travel manager. So I got more stuff ... again.
Current Stuff

How can I get rid of those wheels...?

Old bikes. I keep buying old bikes for $25 off of craigslist...then never getting around to selling them. Anyone want a '77 Schwinn Sierra fixed gear with new chain/wheels/tires/tubes for $150?

Boring stories about ******* drivers and stupid things I've done out on the road. And a bunch of parts for bikes I don't own.

I should have added random spokes. For any wheel (re)build/repair I have ever done I have always purchased a few extra spokes just in case. And I have never needed any of them. So I have quite a selection of odd spokes which some day might just allow me to fix a wheel without having to purchase more (and a few extra) spokes. Luckily they don't take up much space.
