Jerry Casale Road Bike
I have an opportunity to purchase what is being billed as a Jerry Casale road bike. In the Philadelphia area, Jerry was well known as the owner of a great lbs (Hill's, I believe) as well as very instrumental in bringing the (then) CoreStates cycling bike race to Philadelphia, (making the Manayunk Wall famous).
Anyhow, apparently this bike has been hanging on a wall for some time. Pics are not mine but looks to have decent components and to be in OK shape.
Does anyone local to the COBL have any info they could share regarding Jerry Casale road bikes..? Seems like a neat piece of local bike history...
Thanks!

I saw that...he's had it up for a few weeks. He did own the long departed hill cycles, which was an incredible shop.
I'd call Curtis at Via...he bought out a lot of stuff from Casale/Hill Cycles (including a pretty cool Holdsworth with Hill Cycles decals and old uniforms). As I recall, he was auctioning a lot of that stuff during the recent shop move, but I think a lot of it didn't sell. This bike might have even come from that auction, though I can't remember.
Anyway, he'd be the best source I can think of.

Thanks for the info...would love to know the history of the bike, how long and how many frames and bikes Jerry may have created, etc. There is precious little I found when Googling, but maybe I'm not looking in the right spot!

I doubt very much he built the bike...I find it more likely he had one decaled. There were hill cycles branded bikes in his shop...I mentioned one earlier.

I would assume THAT Jerry would ride something like a single speed with steel rims...the de-evolution of the bicycle.

Jerry Casale Road bike
Just looking at the pictures, this frame is a honker at 60Cm st/57cm tt so I doubt Jerry road it.Curtis did buy out Hill and has a ton of great stuff. For the most part its Campagnolo SR, that would add credence to the Columbus SL decal that is falling apart. You have to really wonder about an intact Columbus sticker! Any information about these house bikes would be appreciated as I just brought this one home tonight.I'll post more on it as the clean up progresses.
