Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I like it.

Be prepared if you ride it in the rain......

I've put the half rubber/half leather brake blocks on it as I seem to remember they were better in the wet than all rubber.

Brake lever location looks really awkward, but a nice build otherwise

Thanks for the compliment.

They do look a bit awkward but braking is really not that bad. The bar and lever combo ended up being a comprise between mtn levers and road levers. I wanted the mustache bar because I had never tried them and those who have seem to really like them. I also think they add a element of elegance that other bars can't seem to obtain. I couldn't get the mtn levers in my preferred location because they wouldn't pass around the radius; and I just don't like the way road levers look on a mustache bar. Hence cross levers. After putting them on I realized very quickly that they enhance the mustache bar without being a distraction. I'll ride them as is for a while and may change the location once I figure out what suits me best. Thanks again

Best regards

Rod

Yes and no. Yes, I chose to use the cog to lock the 20 tooth and spacers down. I didn't want to mess with trying to find a BB lock ring that in most cases "almost" fits. Besides UG screw on cogs are inexpensive, plentiful, and fit properly. And no, since it was going to be there anyway (see the pic in my first post) I opted to use it as a second ratio. No different than doing the same with a flip flop hub, and far less expensive option to boot.

Regards

Rod

Just installed PDW full metal fenders on my Wabi. Full townie mode engaged. (The hidden fender mounts on the wabi make the frame look sleek, but they are a serious pain in the ass.)

Please excuse the silver headset.

^ Nice! Headset doesn't bother me.

I even think you could go out on a limb and do a gold headset and chain. Play off the gunwalls and the bottom of your seat. Then some tan grips too....

Thanks. I'm inclined to eventually replace the headset and go all black.

Thanks. If I deflate the tire I can get it out with a bit of persuasion.

Other than the chain being installed inside-out, I think it's beautiful.

Good eye Squid. Some attention to detail maths in the other thread too. 2 FOR 2.

Don't get a big head now. Or grow more arms for that matter.

It's not the entire skull that is a problem. Only the inhalation appendage.

You are all idiots. The way the chain is oriented will cause severe air turbulence and make the bike handle like poop. It's a wonder he hasn't crashed already. But, actually, I guess that's to be expected from you slow guys putting around at 23.5 mph.

Do you actually have ANY cycling experience? That chain right there is a oversized dolphin stock-turner, it has the aero-ability to stabilise the bike! My mate who fixes my bikes told me so! GOD.
