What should I do with cranksets?
I have a used crankset (only used for about 2,000 miles so basically "new") but it's an FSA Gossamer which is basically outdated by today's standards. I upgraded my crankset so I would have a powermeter compatible, but I don't know what to do with the slightly used one. Should I keep it in case something happens to the other crankset? Should I try and sell it? (How much would a used one go for anyways? 100?) Is there something I can do to make it into art? Also I will have the same issue with the bottom bracket. (also will stores by used cranksets?)

you can store if you feel there a need for it in the future , or you can sell it and use the money for a upgrade later .

Ebay "Sold" listings show them selling for between $22 and $45. You could do this with it:

People can ask any price they want on any website they want but low mile used cranks can't be given away. Nobody wants them.
I'd take $22 for a 5800 (105) 53/39 crankset with less than 2000 miles but it sits in my closet. It isn't worth the hassle of emails and texts for that little cash. People want to negotiate or buyers expect it to be delivered to the other side of the city for that price.

I've sold a few other bike components under similar circumstances and never had to negotiate the price or delivery conditions probably because I under priced them already.

I sold a Gossamer last year for about $25. Easier to sell if you include the outboard bearings.

One option is to throw it in the bin, and when you have enough parts, build up a new bike for fun. Since I've bought used parts, an issue is the proliferation of standards. The fact that it's hard to sell a used crank, means that planned obsolescence is a success.
