Vintage bike for a vintage old guy

Picked this up yesterday and cleaned it up a little today. Still needs a little work but I think I'm going to like it.

Nice. My size too.

I have an '89 Ironman Expert in blue/smoke/white. Great bike. But the engine needs work.

I keep thinking I need a red Ironman, but it'll have to wait awhile.

My younger son has one of those, same color even, although his is a 25" frame. (At 6'3", he is the tallest one in the family.) He has always liked it.

Beautiful looking bike. Love the paint scheme. I bet it is a joy to ride.
Enjoy.

Great reliable bikes. Looks like it would be a blast to ride. Check out the Classic and Vintage section for advice on repacking bearings, etc. to make sure you have many years of fun reliable riding. Stay part of the C&V sub-forum for very long and you'll find this won't be the only classic steel bike you end up having - it's the theory of n+1.

Sweet! The ONLY thing I would change on that is, I would find a matching red/white bottle cage.
Have FUN!

...and perhaps a different saddle, and lower gearing if you live in a mountain state.

I envy your shop. Is that a basement? Converted garage? I wish I had that kind of space, although I can't complain, because I can always push both cars out of the garage for the day, and at least I do have storage and work space, even if shared by other functions.

It's a shop I share with my brother in law. We had a cabin burn down years ago here on the property and he's a contractor. so he built a 28' X 50" shop with raised ceilings. It can get a little crowded with all of his stuff and my Falcon (when it's there) but it's definitely nice to have the space. First place I've had where I could actually work on things without having to move stuff out of a garage as you mention
