I am trying like heck to wean myself off of cheap beer (Bud Light, Michelob etc)

I really am liking the Light version of Shiner Bock, ---- and since I was gone for the latter half of the summer , I half a nice stockpile of the summer themed grapefruit tinged beer in the fridge as well

So I ------ drink 1 of the summer beers, then follow it up with 3 or 4 of the Light beers ---- the summer brew carries the full calorie payload so I limit my intake a bit

At Surly's for some fun and relaxation last night.

Had a couple of pints of Simpson's Scottish Ale with dinner.

Delicious!

Simpson's Scottish-A Beer for Peter Simpson - Surly Brewing Co.

Also, a fun fundraiser looms ahead.

Surly bikes and Surly beer announce the Masher.

February 11, 2018

A fundraiser to raise $$$$$s for Full Cycle, a non-profit bike shop in South Mpls. that helps homeless kids in so many ways.

Surly Bikes + Surly Brewing = SURLY MASHER - Surly Brewing Co.

Of course we'll be there.

Prefer stouts and amber Ales. Swamphead here in Gainesville makes a good stout (Midnight Oil), and though available in house only, Cypress and Grove Porter. We are starting to pick up on the number of local breweries.

My day consisted of a cortisone steroid shot and a big glass of this. Probably why I'm so chatty tonight.

I donated a week at my ADK camp to a wine themed auction for opthalmology research. A group of wine loving friend's ended up with a winning bid and I ended up joining them. Below are the 72 "trophies" bagged by the five couples during the week following Labor Day. Our last bottle was a 1982 Lafite Rothschild; heaven.

Bourbon Old Fashioneds. Sweet.

With cherries. Lots of them.

My wife usually steals them, I'm lucky if I get one.
