Any experiences with Bikeflights.com?
I'm looking to sell a bike frame/fork, but shipping quotes I've gotten vary considerably (USPS quote was $150, and UPS quotes ranged from $55-85).
A web search turns up forum posts usually recommending bikeflights both for lower price and great service. Anyone here use them and have insights to relay? Thanks.

My LBS uses it a lot for end of the Tour Box and Ship back home Jobs..
I just do the mechanic's knock down and Packing work, for the LBS.
the data; length height width of box and weight is supplied to the site .
and a few labels are printed and taped to the box (No packing tape over barcodes..)
( FedEx guy picks them up and away they go)
because a business address will have someone to take it in the first time ,
home delivery has a surcharge because you may not be home,
and they have to come back, another 2 tries.(Max).

I've shipped a couple to my kids with them. No issues and reasonable cost. WI to UT ans CA
Box size matters, weight not so much. I drop off at FedEx and actually had my daughter pick up at FedEx. That saved a few bucks over home delivery.

From my experience, the cheapest way to ship bikes. Just be sure to stay within the suggested size recommendations.

Have used them for four round trip shipments for bike tours. Worked every time. The only thing I don't like is that they won't send you a shipping label far in advance of your shipment date. That means that if you are doing a loop tour of a couple of weeks you have to find computer and printer access while on the road or at the end of the trip to access and print your shipping label. But that doesn't concern you in this case.

I used one of their boxes for checking my bike on an airline. TSA did a real number on the box because they couldn’t figure out how to open it. When I emailed bikeflights suggesting they print opening instructions on the outside of the box for TSA, bikeflights sent me a new box for free, which is not what I was after. So, I say great customer service.

I haven't tried them personally, but I've heard nothing but good from people I know who have. They were recommended by my LBS who has a lot of experience with them.

+1 for Bikeflights being easy to use and effective. I shipped in their blue, corrugated plastic box...very easy to pack and the material is (nearly) impossible to puncture or tear.
