Just noticed that it's been 10 days since I've ridden outside. On track to do about half as much time and mileage as I did November '17.
Cat 2
Hour easy on the trainer.
Finally got the wrench I need to finish off my gravel bike build. Hoping I get a bit of time after work tomorrow to ride before I have to head to the airport to fly home. Show's how busy I've been if it takes me almost a month to build this bike I'm so excited to ride.

Congrats on new gravel bike. I had the chance to ride some of the Strade Bianchi in Tuscany, Italy as part of a camp. Gravel riding is hard. I did not have the right kind of tires so I did not do too much of the gravel roads. However, Tuscany looks like a gravel bikers paradise. If you get the chance, take your gravel bike and a set of regular wheels along with gravel and have a blast. Below is film clip from the pro race also called the the Hell of the South. I rode most of the paved roads they were on.

Tuesday was Fiesta with a sprinters warmup and 20 minutes of high tempo with 3x2.5' of 115% FTP VO2 efforts in the drops salted in. That was hard. Wednesday was 3x10' climbing FTP intervals 105%,105% and 108%. I felt aero and awesome on the climbs. Thursday, plyometric leg workout (box jumps) and Thanksgiving dinner.

The air is better. I went to the mountains with my family for a few days to escape the terrible air. Rode outside there, but only an hour for two days, mostly trying to find my way out of the neighborhood. Never been a more confusing place to navigate. Came back Tuesday, rode for an hour in the ~140 AQI, just noodling but it was 3:30pm and getting dark, couldn't ride inside after the long drive home. Wednesday did a workout on the trainer with the garage door open and not minding the rain because I could actually breathe without burning my throat. Yesterday got outside for 90 minutes with @mattm in the clean clean air but just conversational pace so I didn't feel so bad about eating 2lbs of brussels sprouts/bacon/hazelnut thing my wife made.
Today is rain again. This is halfway through the 4th week of like 1/2 training load from usual. CTL has gone from 115 to 90, but SB is at 37, so I feel pretty good!

What a difference in the air quality in the pics. Let's hope it stays that way.

Knee is still borked. PT advised going to normal doctor and MRI. So frustrated right now. Went from putting out personal best numbers at the beginning of October to not being able to spin for half an hour easy on Tuesday

the day on the left was Monday and I rode to work. I didn't ride again after that and it was way worse. above is the moment I decided to do the white-guy thing and buy a few nights in the mountains.

@theKillerPenguin Sorry that your knee is still a problem. Good luck with the doc.
I had a solid 2 hour tempo ride yesterday and a one hour ride as I feel today.

Yesterday 3x8min at about 100% hour power. Not too bad.
Today, did a hellish half hour. 2 x 30sec at 600w, 4 x 1min at 400w, 3 x 30sec at 400w, 1 x 1min at 300w
For pretty much only 7 1/2 min of work and soft pedaling in between TP spat out 280w NP for the workout. I believe it.
Gotta have some nasty new surprises when the group gets back together in the spring time.

Day off yesterday, easy hr on the MTB today, my TSB is still negative and my legs still hurt! I've earned this rest week. I'm already done w block 1 and want to be swinging by the time racing starts in late January with some focus to get points.

Started Base training today! A little later than planned, but it's at least happening.

Felt like getting out of the saddle. We don't have mountains, and it's lame to me doing it on the flats.
So did about 15min total out of saddle in 30min at lunch on the trainer. First set was under/over, second set all 8 min out of saddle.
On the second set of 8min did every other minute "Pantani style", on the drops out of the saddle. Just to see what it was all about.

Did a Zwift race advertised as a group ride. 90 people in it, I came in 12th. I would have done better but in the last mile I was looking for the 'Going the Distance' from the Rocky Soundtrack to motivate me. That probably would have got me in the top 10 ez, but the iTunes App couldn't find it so I had to settle for the Cake song. I blame Apple...and its employees.
