John Tomac??? Ever heard of him, he one a couple races here and there and something called the MTB Hall of Fame inducted him in 1991 but those are old grampa years. Basically he rode a Moun-tain bike with drop bars and was pretty damn good at it.

Now we have bikes like the Salsa Fargo and Moots Baxter which have clearances for wider MTB tires and drop bars and can even run suspension. This bike sadly is not a mountain bike in the slightest it is a gravel bike but lacks clearance for tires and thanks to the proprietary D-fuse seatpost you cannot run any droppers (unless Giant makes a D-fuse dropper now) and with the whacky headset front end area they call Overdrive (and also the fact it isn't designed for it) you cannot run a suspension fork (you could if one would fit but then you run into geometry problems). However the bike was not designed as a mountain bike it was designed as a bike that can handle mixed surfaces and have a lot more clearance than a traditional road bike and a different geo from a traditional cross bike.

You should move to Paris. On the French Metro the other day, the only thing that wasn't black was my bright red waterproof. Naturally I took it off so people could see I was wearing a black suit underneath.
Black is the fashion colour, and has been for many years - I always remember those lines the Crowded House song, which sums it up neatly, "There Goes God".

I would quote the lines, but don't want to risk offending people.

Is the bike manufacturer trying to save the colors of the rainbow? Is the rainbow low on colors?

I am also going through the "black phase" of my life. Never had one when I was younger.
I got an all black bike too. All black, then a neon yellow Nike shoes on some days so all you see is my yellow bright shoe when cycling.

wore all black to a speed-dating event 'bout 8 yrs ago. dress shirt (tucked in), no tie, no jacket, dress slacks, shiny shoes & belt after seeing Patrick Warburton on Rules of Engagement do it. I had several matches that night ...

Can't even tell what brand and model it is (from the picture alone). Way too black for me, personally, but to each his own.

I think this is funny ...... No where in my post did I say I own the bike. I wish I did but, I don't. I posted it up because it looks presidential. Bullet proof. And that's that.

Clean gravel bikes are ugly.

Go install some dirt or mud or dust on it and take a proper photo of it in it's natural habitat.
