Obviously a bike boom gas-piper, but some interesting features. Would be fun to rehab, and ride it into one of the remaining True Value stores and ask if they still stock spare parts for the disc brake...

My wife worked at Cotter &Co during those years and even cycled to and from work sporadically. She can remember seeing that head badge but said none of her bikes came from there.

1986 Basso Gap frame and fork near Greensboro, NC. $150 and willing to ship.

https://greensboro.craigslist.org/bi...850367773.html

"Basso Gap frame and original fork, threaded steerer tube. Original owner, bought new 1986. 61cm seat tube C-to-T, TT approx 59cm C-toC.
Very good condition. Chrome excellent, a few nicks from use, nothing major. Decals damaged from workstand over the years. Columbus SL tubing. Smooth riding, classic steel frame. Handles beautifully. Rear spacing set to 130mm. 27.2 seat tube, Italian BB threading. Blue color is translucent so chrome underneath shows through. Very pretty frame. Asking $150. Local pickup preferred, but open to shipping/delivery/meet-up options at buyers expense"

This is the second reasonably priced Richard Sachs in the last few weeks!

https://boston.craigslist.org/bmw/bi...854864458.html

Vintage Richard Sachs Touring Bike - $1600 (Greenfield)

1979 Build, serial # 3965 – the 396th Richard Sachs bike built

I’m the second owner but believe the bike still has original paint.

Original Campy headset, bottom Bracket and seatpost
Mafac Brakes
Updated Campy drivetrain
56 cm seat tube
56 cm top tube
145 cm headtube
81.5 cm standover

Would make for an awesome L’Eroica build.

Or $1,200 for just the frame, fork, headset, bottom bracket, saddle, seatpost and Mafac Brakes.

Pretty much a buyer's swap. A lot of candy... my favorite was a pearlescent yellow 86' Paramount. Looked like it never got off a trainer.

Should check out Greenfield in the process. I wish I would check out N. Carolina
Richard Sachs pursued diversions like earning his own medals, so his work is like IPO's

Dude, the Suntour Superbe Tech rear derailleur! Known as one of Suntour's Icarus moments, particularly in the MTB scene with its dirt-sensitive upper pulley. As for non-abusive road use, they were fine. Very supple shifting. I had two, and actually got one of them to perfectly index a 7-speed cassette using a 7-speed Shimano Sante DT shifter set on a rain bike a few years ago. 1983 ST (touring) models did have these derailleurs. I'd love to own one of these very early ones--I've owned a few 1985 models and now a '90 ST400 that's been fully modernized in touring form. Great bikes.

Claimed Trek 614 for only $200, but no triple, no Reynolds 531 sticker (repaint?), and is that fork OK?

^^^^ Looks faintly like a 022 sticker on the seat tube. Also no rack braze-ons. A 410/412, I reckon.

Trek Road Bike - $60 (Everett)

https://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/b...855466858.html
Old school Trek. Light, nimble and tight. In great mechanical shape. A joy to ride. Use it as a backup to your current speedster, or as a low cost way to get on the road this summer!

Suntour and SR components.
27" x 1.25 90 psi tires that are in great shape.
Quick release front and rear.
Bar tape is in great shape.
Every thing works well, and is in good order and is ready to ride.
Some minor scratches and minor rust.
Remove the 4 gigantic reflectors and make this light bike even lighter!

That is an interesting bike. My first thought is a repainted Colnago. I’ve never seen a Look in anything but CF.

Well, shows you how much I know. I owned an early Cannondale, but not that early, and it wasn't a touring model. Thank you for the information.

Not a problem. It's what I get for being a Cannondale enthusiast as well as being in the right place at the right time to see a lovely burgundy metallic ST of 1983 vintage (with Superbe Tech RD) roll into a shop that frequent (and volunteer at).

OK, but not a penny more than $4000. I thought that second top tube was a frame pump!
