Retired pannier
15 years on, finally declared deceased. After a while, when it became clear I wasn't patient enough to wait for them to die to replace them, I split up the pair and gave one to each kid; my son finished his off a year or so ago and today we pulled the plug on my daughter's. Now they each have half of the next pair that I got tired of waiting to die, and I finally think I have the right ones (ortlieb backrollers)

Fifteen years is a pretty good life for panniers that get a lot of use. I've had mine for six years now, but I bought them used and the guys before said he was commuting with them for ten years. One of the hooks to hook onto the rack has broken off already, fixed, then broken off again. Now I'm just zip tying that part to the rack. Still ticking though. But unlike you, I can see its final days coming soon.
