Looking ahead to likely getting tires for an old JCPenny bicycle I found by a dumpster.
It's a stepthrough sport tourer, drop bars with safety levers, Ashtabula crank with skip tooth big ring, and impressively cheap frame construction. Not quite sure yet if I'll actually make use of it, but I do have a 12 year old getting just too big for his very cool (and apparently very rare) ~1987 vintage 20" StreetRunner 10 ATB.
Sheldon Brown lists a good handful of bead seat diameters for "24 inch" tires, but his charts don't seem to show:
24x1-3/8 FIT TO RIM F3
I assume I can find the right size by measuring the circumference of the bead seat ... still, any guesses what BSD these are?

Huh, the, F8 (66" circumference) figures to ~534mm. That's interesting, anyway!

Here’s a more comprehensive chart: https://www.bikecollectives.org/wiki....php?title=Rim
Looks like you’ve got 540mm rims.

540 might be worth a try. Bead circumference measurements are fussy.

I think I'll try driving people nuts by calling it a 600A. :-p

On a roadbike I laced up with 540 rims, I went with 1" bmx racing tires because all I could find narrow enough was wheelchair tires or bmx tires. Worked fine.
Looks like now days Schwalbe 24x1" in 540mm are available from online retailers.. not sure if they are intended for bicycles or wheelchairs though.. not sure how much it matters. I would think the construction is different for lean angle, but maybe not. You could always step down to a 520 rim I guess if the brakes reach.
