Speaking of self-quarantine, there is so much fear about the coronavirus among my patients and even my staff. It's not the end of the world. Keep calm and carry on.
Looks like the stock market is ascared too. Is it time to buy yet??

Honestly, I don't care that much. The kids' college savings are all in bond/short term safe stuff. The investments in the market are not planned to be tapped for another decade or more. Will sit tight and ride it out as everyone else should be doing too.

I take great pleasure in having outsmarted this impetuous pup today, changing the strike plate to keep her from opening the door and venturing upstairs where I didn’t want her. HA!! She tried it without success then walked over and stared at me as if to say “You dirty rotten ...”
The score is now 1,134 to 1. I’m catching up.

It’s forecast to be 69 today, it’s already 61. That’s just stupid weather!

No, but I've seen that video - looks like a huge, messy pain in the ass. That guy, Cycling Oz, has shifted his process since - he recommended the cold water dunk when he was mixing paraffin wax and paraffin oil. Now he's using wax and PTFE, much like Molten Speed Wax (BTW, I found out yesterday that MSW is based in my metro area - cool). Anyway, Oz now recommends wiping with a clean shop rag right out of the bath. MSW recommends just letting it drip and cool, which is what I've done. It doesn't look like there's that much wax on the outside, so I don't think that it'll get caked, but we'll see.

My freshly waxed chain is hanging up and coolin' down. My thoughts on the process - the initial cleaning of the chain is far and away the most significant effort; the actual waxing is trivial. Since the cleaning only has to happen once per chain, the rest of the year should be smooth sailing... if it all works as advertised. Fingers crossed. Hopefully I'll get in a ride tomorrow and see how it does on the road.
My conclusion after finishing it is "I just don't know"
The wide range of reported re-application intervals is what's bothering me. I could deal with something like 400km intervals, but people reporting having to re-wax at 200k? No thanks.

I’m heavily invested and not worried about it. However, I was going to sell about $15-20k of worth of under-performers last month before heading to Florida but decided to wait until we returned. Now, I wish I had done it because I would be putting that money back in now.

Does the greater weight and longer wheelbase of the tandem offset the increase in surface area that the wind can bear on?

I have no investments other than a Roth 401K.
I look at it maybe twice a year. It keeps getting bigger, so I don't think about it much.

Generally, tandems in a cross wind are really nasty due to so much surface area and two sets of legs whirling around. They do a good job in the headwind, though.

On my ride yesterday I saw that the bike path is finally clear of snow. The rain and 50° temps today should take care of pretty much anything remaining.
Time to get my wife's cute little mixte overhauled and ready to go for this year.
