Question:4130 Double Butted build
I have a bike with a 4130 double butted frame from a Korean brand called American Eagle (built in China.) Good frame for what it is with garbage components.
I wanted something fancy, but with the pandemic and extreme budgeting “fancy” just wasn’t an option. Things are looking up now so I’m now thinking about the future. Korea doesn’t have much to offer for western brands. They are possible to get, but they come with the headache of exchange rates and super expensive shipping rates.
Since the frame is of decent quality (4130 DB chromoly) should I build it up with quality components or should I bite the bullet and use the money to buy something Korea has to offer?
Engine 11 and Constantine are quite popular here as well as abroad, but I haven’t had any luck finding many reviews about their stock builds that probably put my current components to shame.
Buddy at the LBS suggested new brakes, rims and tires. Everything else would be bling factors.
FYI, the frame is a perfect fit for me.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Peace be with you all.

I personally prefer the flex of steel frames for street use. Engine 11 and Constantine frames are primarily aluminum are most likely going to be a sitffer ride. I know some people really like the look of big tubing aluminum bikes without regard to the way they ride. What are you looking for in a bike?

I bought the complete for $120. Keep in mind that we don’t have the shipping fees the west has here which shaved off a lot off the price.
The rim sets I’ve been able to find here vary in price. The most decent set I’ve found are $350. They’re Miche X-Press rims.

If you want to spend money check out your local builders: https://rookeybike.com or TOIVO. If you can head over to Japan you are in fixed gear custom frame paradise. Nagasawa, Level, Cherubim...
If you love the bike put whatever parts you want on it.
