Sidewall Peeling on Gatorskin Tires

I have 2 tires with the same issue, sort of a flap coming off the sidewall. I did a search but didn't see this issue mentioned, are these still safe to ride? Everything seems intact, no visible damage on the inside of the tires.

I'm trying to use up my Gatorskin stock while looking for something else because of this. It's annoying when those mesh decorations start brushing brakes. So far (knock on wood) I haven't had any problems that snipping the fishnet off wouldn't solve -- I've continued to ride the tires until the tread wore out.

Glad to hear you haven't had any problems. I guess I'll snip it off and keep riding.

People snip it off or put a dab of some adhesive on to hold it down, it is annoying but I have never heard anyone claim a serious problem.

Well I answered my own question today. Sidewall blew out after about 25 miles.

On the bright side, I got to test out a Park tire boot for the first time. It worked, probably better than a dollar bill.
