Wellgo has made good value pedals for decades, they have a wide variety of flat pedal offerings, see old post here:

https://www.bikeforums.net/18765101-post8.html

Wellgo MG-1 pedals have a relatively large platform (good for sneakers, etc), grip-adjustable with number of pins mounted, fairly low weight for the pedal engagement area, and lower cost than many of their competitors' offerings (some of which are actually manufactured by Wellgo).

MG-1 pedals come with two reflectors per pedal, which can be removed, but if you do remove them hang on to them because it seems impossible to find exact replacements.

I would say, 'it depends on your shoes'.

Rivendell Clems are what i have on my bike, and had on my old bike that got stolen last year; $26, rebuildable, will last years, maybe decades:

To get fancy(er), you could get Deity Deftraps, in 10 different colorways (as the kids say), they also rock, but $50 worth:

I plan on touring on a some Bontrager Line Elite's in May. I pulled them off my mountain bike. I hope they are not too aggressive. I like that they are "sticky".

I bought these TITO titanium pedals off of eBay for around $40 and I have them on my Fatbike. They have taken several good log hits with no visible damage. Being made of Titanium they will not suffer much from the salt on the road between my house and the trails. They are around 220 grams for the pair. The pins do a good job of biting into the soles of several different pair of boots I wear when riding the Fatbike. And, they are large enough for my size 14 US (49 euro) feet (98*88*10mm thick), but not so huge that they are only for those of us who wear clown shoes.

The TITO's...an online pic implies the axle is titanium alloy and the pedal is 6061 aluminum. That makes more sense for $40.
