Cupertino Bike Shop closing

I learned today via e-mail that CBS is closing effective 8/31/22. The shop had been in operation in various locations 70 years, but the owner, Vance, stated that there wasn’t a new location to be found that made economic sense.

I shopped there off and on from the 80s. Bought a Cervelo there and as it was the last place I knew of that would preform RAD cleat fittings, even stopped there on trips from the PNW to have them installed on new shoes.

Hearing about continuing loss of retail diversity is so depressing.

Well technically, that "sucked", past tense.

Speaking of sucks....is there any remnants of the Della Sants shop left up there? I heard he had an intern he was grooming to take it over.

From the remnants of the website, probably not. You can buy a Woolistic DS jersey (Euro 3 and Euro 5 sizes only) and there is a contact info page, but nothing else. Well, there is a cool photo of a youngish Roland and what looks like even more youngish Lemond in early days with the yellow Cinelli he started out on, but otherwise ti looks pretty much shut down.
