Of the type for TA, Stronglight, Nervar cranks, for 3/32" chain. Could have sworn someone posted a For Sale on one recently, but getting an odd error message in Search Results, so here I am.

I assume you are referring to a sales post by The Thin Man. It looks like he is clearing out items that sold.

Wow, that's a chunk of time on the buffing wheel to pretty-up. Then again, cost is cheap even if shipping cost/time is sub-optimal. And -- it's clearly for single-chainring so no unfilled holes in my application. Thanks!

By the way, to TA chainrings have any indicator on them to show which are for 1/8" chains, and which are for 3/32"?

I sent that seller an e-mail asking if he thought it was just dirty, or is the metal pitted and the dark areas would not buff out -- hard to tell in the photos

Thanks, everyone, it looks like I'll have the chainring on the way soon; I am buying Stevensb's one. The eBay one looked like it would polish up OK but after paying freight, it was closing in on Stevensb's asking price and NOS clinched it.

I appreciate the input!

Yes. TA track rings have a numeral "3" stamped under the tooth count stamp to indicate they are for 3mm (1/8") wide chain:

Good to know! I think the one I bought is already in transit, hopefully no "3" to worry me.

Larry, no number 3 on the ring I sent you.

I do however have an NOS 52 with the 3 stamped on it and thanks to @JohnDThompson I now know what I have.

Cheers.

Whew! Anyway, this will drive a Shimano Nexus 8 and apparently I could run a 1/8" chain on it if needed and if the chainring required it. But something tells me "use the correct chainring/chain/sprockets that are designed to work together"
