5000th Post and Some Thoughts
To All,
I have been approaching my 5000th post on Bike Forums, I have made some good friends and obviously learned quite a bit from members here, I hope that I have also made a few contributions.
Thinking about how I would acknowledge this post (for me) a milestone....and to recognize another special day, I waited until today to use this opportunity to wish all of the dads and prospective dads a "Happy Fathers Day".
I applaud "fathers" who are good role models, helping to shape and guide our children into becoming good citizens.....Many times these contributions/efforts may go unnoticed, because as we all know, it's "easy" to be a dad. Fathers know that it's not true.....So, Happy Fathers Day!
Best, Ben

Thank you Ben for all your input and look forward to the next great thread or post. I too have met great friends and enjoyed learning from others as well as sharing . Five K posts….WOW! I had a great Father’s Day . Went for an early ride on my Windsor Pro , came home and had a nice phone call from my daughter who was driving towards Donner Pass. Then I got some wrenching in on my Colnago, installing some Panto bits I recently acquired and some chain maintenance. Finished off the day trimming some of my rare palms that I planted over 20 years ago , a great day , I hope all the dads had the day they wanted . As fathers we hope that we give our children the tools to someday become great humans that can make a difference in this world .

I raised my sons working on bicycles, cars, appliances, and home repair with me, teaching them skills they continue to use. I am encouraging my elder son to do the same with his two boys.

I'm not a dad, but I have more than 5000 posts. Sometimes I look at you guys as people I should try to help with what I've learned over 65 years of wrenching and analyzing designs and problems. Bicycles are what showed me I could be an engineer, and being someone who likes to share with a community is what makes me stick around here!
So, a belated Happy Father's Day to all!

See how productive you can be if you don''t waste all the time on parenting?
