Ride a legend. The Eddy Merckx MX Leader bike was handcrafted in Belgium and represents the pinnacle of lugged steel frame building. The bike features Merckx MXL Columbus tubing which is really something special; the downtube and seat tube are tapered and ovalized at the bottom bracket. Lugs and BB are investment cast.
"Tube set for special racing bikes made from the exclusive Nivacrom® steel with exceptional strength characteristics .The elliptical cross-sections are oriented in such a way that the major axes are directly opposed to the highest active and passive stresses. This set has been designed to optimize efficiency under the demands of extreme bads: sprint, time trials, climbing and strong centrifugal acceleration when descending.
Frame size is 59cm (center-top) and top tube is 59cm (center-center). Nice original paint and decals with just a few small wear areas. The bike features a complete Dura Ace 10 speed groupset including brakes, derailleurs, crankset, brake levers, and headset. Seatpost is Campagnolo, bar and stem are Cinelli, and wheels are by Mavic. The bike just received a full tune-up and features new Jagwire brake and derailleur cable housings and new perforated handlebar tape. That Miyata Ridge Runner in WI has horizontal dropouts.
Hen's teeth if you're looking to convert to IGH or SS.
I looked for over a year to find a Specialized that would work, and the slots are much shorter.
That would be a cool bike to modify.

Gently rode 85 Ross Hi- tech mt st helen. Super clean original and American made.the blue Ano on rims are a deep blue. If the ad is up i still have it. Rides nice.

I overheard $1500 but would take $1300.
To be honest, I had no idea this was so valuable.
A couple have come through the co-op and we cleaned them up and sent them out for around $300 - 400 each.
