I’m 44 miles short of where I wanted to be right now. I did a short tour with some friends but we had to forgo the last day due to a combination of mechanicals and a nagging minor medical (not me). I won’t get that 300 I was going for.

Best I'll be able to do is 380 miles. Got a ride in this morning, hopefully another tomorrow. Monday and Tuesday is work travel so no time. If I can ride Wed & Thurs I'll match July.

Another month of disappointing mileage. We'll see how it goes for the rest of the month.

123.5 so far.
Got my first road bike (Specialized Allez Sprint) this month, and I’ve been inspired to ride more than I have since I was 19. Lost some weight, too.

Been riding my son’s 8 or 10 year old Schwinn hybrid (very heavy bike) that he didn’t take to college with him for several months, and that’s what I started the month with. I weighed about 215 when I started the summer - when I was in the Army, I was 165-170.
I haven’t owned a bike of my own in decades. I got obsessed with the idea of a nice road bike after riding one of my brother’s this summer, and ended up buying a Specialized Allez Sprint this month.
My mileage and distances ridden have gone up a *lot*, as has my pace. Never ever thought I’d hit 30+ mph on a bike.
Schwinn:
1st - 4.3
2nd - 4.3
3rd - 4.3
8th - 4.3
10th - 4.3
26th - 2 with daughter, very slow as she gets used to riding again after a long break.
Allez:
12th - 4.37 (day I bought it, ran the same route I’d been using with the Schwinn)
14th - 10.36
16th - 10.58
17th - 7.22
19th - 10.7
21st - 13.48
22nd - 7.09
23rd - 16.18 - 1 hour of riding!!
26th - 21 - 1:27
27th - 2.14 - commuting
28th - 6.8
29th - 11.07 - 42:38
144.49 so far this month between the two bikes.
The Allez is a lot of fun! I may swap the saddle, though - I’m not sure the hard/narrow thing is for me. I got a set of padded bike shorts, then added a bib so I could have one hanging and drying while the other is ready to ride.
I am down to 204.

Cleared to ride. Legs felt great, eye feels okay and my lungs/heart reminded me I haven’t ridden much in the last 2 weeks.

I’m in Arizona.
Rode 12 miles this morning, averaged 16mph, temp about 68-70. Then, after work, rode to the tennis courts, and on the way home after hitting with a playing partner, I stopped off at the bike shop to have the deraileurs adjusted (who knew? A new bike needs things adjusted as the cables stretch-in!) and then back home, for 3.6 of just transportation/getting errands done on roads that are much busier that time of day than at dawn. Much hotter, as well: temp topped out at about 100 this afternoon. So a total of 15.6 for the day.
160.1 for the month. Never thought I’d be keeping a tally like this, or that I’d ride this much, but I imagine I’ll be riding again in the morning and will update again.

Hi, Mark! Thank you! It is the nicest bike I’ve had, by far.
I’m in Arizona.

12 miles this morning, 172.1 total for the month. Saw a beautiful sunrise, a whitetail doe, a coyote, a cat, some doves and quail. Nice morning!
I’ll rest tomorrow, maybe lift some weights, and then try for 25+ on Saturday. Usually play tennis on Saturdays, as well.

193 miles; goal was 214. Son and GS visited for a week. Last year I rode 140 miles with my son and 10 with son and GS. GS is a year older now, and we couldn't leave him at home ... and we rode 40 miles. At 79, I find GS's desire to ride at 8 mph now and 15 mph a few minutes from now extremely wearing and not much fun. I hope and exect he learns about pacing in the next year.
742 miles so far for the year. I'd like to hit 1000 by 9/30. Trip and High Holidays may prevent that.

August Goal: 100 miles

8/31 - 119.1
MTD: 124.2 mi.
At least I finished off with a bang. I tried to ride double my age in miles on my birthday yesterday, and like last year, I didn't quite make it. Was shooting for 132, but my knees were screaming at me at 119 so I threw in the towel to avoid injuring them. Would have gone a lot faster if I'd remembered to top off the sealant in the front tire before leaving, it was dried out and didn't do any good when I got my first flat. I used my emergency tube and then hit some goathead thorns about 75 miles in that took out the new tube. Nearest bike shop was a 2-mile walk, but I got there and got back on the road, though it cost me quite a bit of time. A long day in the saddle, but a fun time aside from the flats.
