Ah, yes. I counted up one time (but cannot recall the number) but between the two mtn bikes and the 6 road bikes, various shifting mechanisms, high normal and low normal, etc and steady rotation through all those bikes, I generally have that problem. Also I generally get my brain sorted out pretty quickly then get to work. It’s fun ain’t it?

If you are single, the optimum number of bikes to have is the familiar N+1. If you have a Significant Other, the formula changes to N=S-1, where S is the number of bikes at which the SO kicks your sorry a$$ to the curb.

You know you have too many bikes when you have two bike racks on the back, a roof rack, a trailer, and a rack on the front. I got stopped by a cop and asked "Why???" Sorry officer I'm going to the park and let kids ride and cook Hot Dogs. "OK be careful" and he let me go.

Bike fixing season is upon us. Recycle Your Bicycle in our area just got about 1,000 bikes donated last week. Sometimes they need to be moved to other nonprofits for forwarding or other work. My '88 C1500 pickup has a 5-place rack on the rear receiver, and a 3-place rack in the front. And it's been full (including the shell) twice last week.

For me, it's reaching for the wrong water bottle position.
For about 30+ years, my Raleigh Pro had a J.A. Stein 'butt bar' attached to the saddle holding two bottle cages conveniently just behind me. My aging tushie has said it's no longer 100% happy with the Unicanitor saddle, and newer saddles have rear rail angles that don't work with the butt bar, so I've had to go back to frame-mount cages. But I still catch myself reaching back for bottles that ain't there anymore - and I'd do that on some of my faster bikes that never had rear-mount bottles.
Another one: For several days after a long ride on the fixie, I'll hesitate a bit before coasting on any other bike, as I have to remember that I can do it again without "side effects".
Many of my bikes have front baskets, and bottle cages in those baskets. A couple bikes have handlebar cages without baskets, and some have clean bars. I'll catch myself trying to toss an item into a nonexistent basket, or reaching for a bottle that's not there (see above).
But none of this diminishes the fun of being fortunate enough to have accumulated a wide range of bicycles available for use.

When you have to double check to be sure you have the right shoes for the bike you’re taking on vacation - the clip & strap shoes, the ones with Look cleats or the others set up for Eggbeaters.
Last week I kept reaching for the down tube while riding the bike with bar end shifters.

And then going back in the reserve once every 3rd blue moon, and finding things like this - an unopened Ross Mt. Cruiser I bought in 1995 on blowout sale "just in case" I would need it in the future. Note that the Mt. Cruiser that got built and used has over 20,000 miles on it, maybe having a spare was a good idea. But now it's more a time capsule than a backup bike.
