Beautiful bike.
Did you plasma cut the sheet metal between the 2 top tubes? Looks clean.
The wheels look shallow. Are the original to the bike? Are they hooked for the tire bead?
The crank arms look flattened. Is that an optical illusion?

Tires and wheels off a 1954 CCM, original Dunlop tire which look small for this bike we’re just to cool for me not to use. 2” in the rear and 1 3/4 up front. The crank arms are flat and original to the bike. They look great in real life.
As for the panel I got it cut with our laser table at my work. The CAD guys whipped it up for me😎 we cut it out of 18gauge satin coat metal but the flames were too floppy so we ended up using 1/4” aluminum plate

Makes sense for the crank arms to be drawn into that profile. I just don’t know if I’ve ever seen those cranks before.

Something is not quite copacetic there...
You have a Wald headset on aschwinn Ashtabula fork. I bet the crown race doesn't sit on the fork crown quite right and the top adjust cone race doesn't have a matching id to the forks od. It's off just a smidgen. so you're either too tight or a bit sloppy. no in between.

Just bought this from a friend. 1970's Schwinn with a mix of parts - skinny tank fitted from a Columbia, seat from a 1990's big box bike, riser bars from a 1969 Stingray, 36T chainring for a cruisable gear for these old knees.

It's a 90's model. Yes I'm sure, but that's not a bad thing. The 90's schwinns ride better than the older electroforged frames.

Converted my Hardrock hard tail over to a single speed cruiser .
Low gearing , 30/22 for climbing hills around here.

I picked this up a few weeks ago at an estate sale. I'm told its likely a '49 or '50 model, (Columbia). .
Its mostly original parts wise besides the seat and maybe a newer front sprocket.
I re-greased the cranks, hubs, and headset and it rides great as shown.
The tires need some attention as they're loosing bits of tread here and there from age but I hate to lose that original look with those huge round, wide original tires. Newer tires just don't look the same on these old bikes.

They didn't look much bigger than the original Carlisle tires on this bike.
When I do that I may respoke the wheels too, the original spokes are looking a bit rough, a few are seized and can't be adjusted.
I've also been thinking about building the wheels with larger diameter spokes, like the same year newsboy models, but haven't decided on that one yet. I even have a correct era hub drilled for the larger spokes, and a spare set of painted black rims too. That way I could put the originals away for safe keeping and ride on the set best suited for a bigger rider like myself.

Bad pic but just got and hoses the layers of dust off.
1988 General Catalina Cruiser 26” coaster brake model.
Snagged off the scrappers truck for a few bucks. Even has the shop sticker from the local bike shop which has been in business forever.

Finally got it rolling for a test cruise around the neighborhood. Not bad. Will be replacing the wheels, saddle, post and handlebar with parts which don’t belong to other projects!
