My first vintage bike!
Hello everyone, I got my first vintage bike today.
This is my Batavus Champion Intercycle.
I got it as a gift from someone who knew I had an interest in the 1970s and he claimed it was from that period too,
Looking at it a bit I’d have to agree with him but maybe someone could tell me some more about it!

This one? I had one in white, it was the cheapest to get but I had some years fun with it. This is 1978.

My first bike shop bike was a 1975 Batavus Tour de l'Europe, two notches up from the Champion - same frame, but with chromed fork tips and slightly nicer parts. The Champion is the equivalent of a Peugeot A-08. Not a super lightweight bike, but when cleaned and serviced capable of giving a good ride.

What about 55 C-T (53 C-C)? They skipped right over me!
Interesting use of 27" instead of 700C rims, but that was a thing with Peugeots of that period, as well.
