I have a 1962 RIH Supercourse sport racing bike I want to sell, but it needs new tyres before I advertise it, I know next to nothing about bicycles!
So can someone please tell me the tyre and inner tube sizes I need to order for it please?

....those were fairly nice frame back in the 1960's. I would advise you to rethink replacing the tires before selling it.

The marketplace for these is mostly the Classic and Vintage crowd, and all of them will look at your bike as a project to be restored. Whoever buys it will want to choose his own tires, and might even decide to rebuild the wheels with some newer rims. So you're unlikely to get the money back you spent on the tires, when you sell it. These can be hard to sell right now. The people who used to spend money to buy them are aging, and e-bikes are a big deal right now.

But if yours is in good cosmetic condition, there's probably someone who would enjoy restoring it as a rider.

But my advice would still be the same, regardless of the vintage of yours. I would advertise it as needing new tires/tubes.

If you are really set on replacing them, for clincher tires Vittoria offers good deals in the Rubino Pro line. Chances are pretty good your bike takes 700c rims and tires. So maybe 700x25 or 700x28

Then emphasize the classic nature of your steel framed cycle. Provide a link to the RIH website, which will help. Good luck with the sale.

How much do you expect to sell this bicycle for? You may be disappoimted when you put it up for sale.
The price of new tires may reduce the asking price of this bike to practically zero

...there's a C+V valuations forum here. You can put photos in a gallery, and people can access them. Or you can wait a couple of days until you have ten posts, then start a thread in there, asking advice. You should take pictures of the bike, from the drive side, and also of the components, like bar, stem, derailleurs, brakes, hubs, rims, etc.

As others have noted, selling a 60 year-old bike is for collector/restorer folks, not for somebody looking for transportation or recreation. Putting new tires on it would a negative for collectors. The tires should have some sort of marking on the sidewall that will give you clues about tire size. The specifics of the markings will give you the specifics of the tire you might want. For example, a tire width of 1 & 3/8" means a different rim/tire size than a tire width of 1.375" or 35mm.

The tyre is too worn to see the size printed on the tyre wall, the inner tube says 27 x 1 1/4 28. 1 5/8 1 1/4 28 1 5/8 x 1 1/8
all a bit confusing for me!

Since inner tubes stretch to most any shape when inflated inside the tire, tube markings are not much use. Google Sheldon Brown Tire Sizing and read the article. You might get some idea of what you have.

Ok Thank you very much for the advice.
I canīt read the markings on the sidewall, they're completely perished.
Would I be better off selling it for parts in your opinion? It seems such a shame though as itīs a complete bike in original condition,
with a Brookes saddle and Titan handlebars.

You are just about at ten posts - put the bike up in the appraisal section with a few good pics and tell us where you are located, with that info folks here can help you out.
