More than I need, about as many as I want. They are kinda one per usage, though in honesty, I could probably get by with two. Thankfully I have the space, and I like love to fix bikes.

Too many. Not enough. Somewhere in the middle?

Let's see...

1985(ish) Raleigh Kodiak (touring bike)
1993(ish) Schwinn Crosscut (hybrid bike)
1997 Schwinn Moab (hardtail MTB --> homebrew ebike conversion)
2004(ish) Specialized Rockhopper (hardtail MTB)
2023 Lectric XPedition (cargo ebike)
These 5 seem to cover all the bases. Until the next time I find a new project...

As much as I would like to be car free isn't happening. Wife with eye sight that makes driving or biking not an option I'm maintenance in a level one trauma center if something goes south I may have to stay until it's done . Traffic and roads were I live . I also have anxiety and driving is a major trigger, but I was raised to do what you have to to take care of your family. I'm finally getting better from health issues so I can get back to riding. Since I am riding again I've had all my bikes out for maintenance and lubrication .
I have 7 bikes
Surly Steamroller set up as a single speed my first good bike

Surly Long Haul Trucker custom this is the bike I dreamed of when I couldn't afford a decent bike

Surly flat bar Cross Check yeah I like Surly's

Raleigh Sports 1975 like new just cause I want it replaced the original tires with cream colored tires it's what I ride with my grandchildren on

Electra loft 1 nickel plated frame black parts coaster brake though it was a good looking bike and sometimes simple is good

Gravity bullseye 29 plus I have a friend who is a retired off-road motorcycle racer he has over 100 acres with miles of trails plus when I am able I ride along the river and fish

Univega Alpina 501 mountain bike that has suffered a hillbilly with extra parts and time it has drop bars off my steamroller Origin 8 brake levers friction bar end shifters Serfus 26 x 2 Semi slicks.
I have had 2 surgeries on my right foot I am getting back to riding some day I hope to travel more on a bike than a car

What I own
1 vintage steel track bike (Eddy Merckx barely ridden but eternily adored)
2 vintage steel road bikes (both no longer built up, Tommasini Tecno, Dave Russel)
1 vintage moulton (insanely old, rusty BB area and with some major gear changing issues)
1 gravel bike (cannondale topstone the most uninspiring bike to look at, in accountants under pants grey but handles amazingly even when loaded up to the hilt!)
1 endurance / road bike (carbon cannondale synapse- unbelievably comfortable and quick)

What I need
1 beater bike that has reliable brakes I can ride around my area, not die on the hills and be at peace with if it's stolen
