You should have the HRV also. Do you not? I have mine on the watch and app.

My garmin trainer calls for 2 zone 2 rides a week. intervals the other days. if not zone 2 then what?
First race is a gravel thing that doesn’t count towards my ranking. More for fun. I’m not sure what actual road racing i’m going to do.

At that point, I was awake and on the bike, I wouldn’t have been able to go to sleep if I went home so I opted to stay on it but dial it down. Yes I admit it was a complete waste.

I probably would have done the same. I'm sensitive to this because of all the stupid, compulsive, self-defeating **** I do.

Z2 and weights are all the base of the pyramid on which you build come race time. You don't race at Z2, though when you happen to be in that zone, it should be like doing nothing on race day.
But if you're not racing, never mind.

Does it ask you how you're feeling, how you're sleeping, how your week has been, and adjust workouts, blocks, or maybe the whole plan, accordingly? That's what a coach does and if you are self coaching, that's now your responsibility.

It does not. But if it calls for intervals and I am not feeling it I don’t do intervals. As said before with my limited time home I am still going to ride, I like to think I am smart enough to dial it down enough when I have to.
I’m hoping with this garmin watch all my data will be in one place and maybe that will allow more input/ feed back. As far as I can tell it doesn’t really do any feed back, but then I have missed a lot in the sense of when I am supposed to do it a workout vs when I do it be cause of work. I have hit everything except for the fitness test that LAJ and TMONK ruled pointless. But maybe because I have decorated from the schedule I am not receiving feed back.

SS, threshold, and VO2 Max. You know, like if you planned on doing race type things. At this time of year, I was breathing super heavy on Saturday, and doing 3 x15' which would be working up to 3x20' on Sunday. Through the week was 6x4-5 of 115%+, 3x30' SS and 3x10- 40 on at 125%/20easy at 150-ish watts or so, throughout the 20 seconds. It would increase in volume throughout the season.

The langley speed way crit is march 3rd, so I may just do that one. We are hosting a big 3 day event in April that I would like to try and do atleast one event.
Having kids plus my job makes this really hard. I’m blessed the wife gives me the freedom and bikes that she does, but it’s hard to keep asking for more. She wants me to race but at what cost.
There is a training series that starts in May or June. If I can’t do anything else I really really really want to try and get to these weekly. Low key, and fun.
Adulting sucks.

Also, If you are doing those rides. Is that 90 mins of riding 3 times a week, 4 times a week? One day on one day off?
My “plan” does start ramping up, I think I gave it a hypothetical race date of march 18th which might be why it’s still calling for zone 2 rides.

I havnt really decided. Lily is overwhelmed with the kids and all the races are on Saturdays/ Sundays. In February they are literally every weekend, and there is just no way I can swing that. The road race I’m on edge about. It’s pretty much a **** show, and I really don’t want to crash again, the crit is the next day but I now have to commute for work.

Summertime, I would drive to the spot through the week and get my stuff done after work, and weekends I would ride to it, if not racing.

I took Monday and Friday off. 3 Weeks on, one week recovery. Through the week it depends. This time of year, I was on the trainer. A dumb trainer, in a cold garage, with nothing but gruel to look forward to as a recovery meal. The weekend, I would ride to where I planned on doing the workout in Z1, or very low Z2.
Summertime, I would drive to the spot through the week and get my stuff done after work, and weekends I would ride to it, if not racing.

Gotcha. Well it’s cool to see I am still doing it wrong. Maybe by the time I am in my 40s I will figure it out.

Adulting doesn't suck, it just means you stay busier for a longer amount of time.
Thank heavens your inner adult doesn't tell you to sit on the couch, watch Netflix, smoke weed, and eat **** delivered by Door-dash. Weighing 300 pounds isn't adulting.

On the main page it says the process takes about 10 minutes. I get in the queue and it says the wait time is 53 minutes. That was over 1/2 hour ago. Now it's 33 minutes. SMH.

These workouts have too much fluff. You need to maximize your time, which very well may mean spending more time on the trainer. 5 minutes Z1, a nice little high cadence warm-up at 115-120 rpm for 5 minutes at 130-150 watts, a few at Z1, then get moving on those 20/40's. I would double it though. 4x8' 20/40 6-8 minutes rest between sets.

Of course, that's a rough draft of what I would do. As the season progressed, things changed. TT time, I would head to the TT course, and do threshold out there on that bike. Hill climb time, I would head to the hills and do threshold at 8-10,000 feet.

You should have seen me before I started cycling, which is also one of the reasons why I ride anytime I can get my hands on a bike. I didn’t start this sport to race, never in a million years would I have ever thought I would have done a race and done decent on top of that.
Prolly close to my heaviest.

Will do. The fluff works well for me to get to the stretch of road where I can do the intervals, I will attempt to double it tomorrow, I think I can skip through the fluff, so I’ll do the work out finish the last set of intervals and then restart the work out and skip to the intervals.
Wait I misunderstood. I’ll use the template and once I get there stop the workout and do it myself. Maybe use the it for the first set to for the power numbers then stop the workout to continue the 4x8. 20/40

Wow, I’m an idiot, I didn’t know I could edit these this whole time. Sheesh.
I’ll leave the fluff for tomorrow, just because it works to get me where I am going.
How does this look now, or do should I increase the rest between sets still.
