Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

And to be clear the type of racing that interest me

Team mate who is also part animal I think, does these often. This is the type of stuff that interest me.

So the bulbs that blew up were not LED. Nor do I know if they were 50W or 75W.

I bought 75W because Lily wanted white light instead of yellow and they didn’t have white in 50.

are you sure the fixture is for GU10 bulbs? if you saw sparks something shorted out and it is super easy to change the light fixture out. at the very least pull it down and get a volt meter and check the volts actually going to the fixture have some one turn the dimmer switch up or down and see if that changes. If you have good power at the light you know it is the fixture. The dimmer switch is not going to affect just one light...so my story and I am sticking to it is the fixture unless of course it is not for GU1- bulbs.....

The bulbs I pulled out had the same connection. None of the lights are dimming now, and only one light is not working.

Might be time to call an electrician before you develop a studder.

If one socket is not working, you already tried a known good lamp, then there has to a be a problem in the fixture. If they won't dim, problem in the dimmer, unless the resistance changed somehow because of the one open circuit. Tough to diagnose things over the web when we don't know how they work or if the right parts are installed.

Fair enough. Luckily the three that work or super bright so it’s not an emergency. Thanks for the help.

Snow update. Postholing up to the coffeeshop was a good workout, the last couple blocks were easy, thanks to postholers who had gone before me. Just enough of a cool down period to make it so I didn't pass out while ordering my latte.

Just a couple more days of snow to go...

Whew, shoveled a path and brought in all the trash cans for the apartments, shoveled the sidewalk too. Wonder if I should dig the van out, probably won't be driving anywhere, the poor ol' girl only gets out once a week these days it seems.

Before all that toil I had a nice time trackside sipping coffee
