My buddies aren't really into the classics like I am. They get a real kick out of me reaching down to shift and I get a lot of friendly teasing. I doubt I could convince them to make the drive with me. It's funny , when we are out and about , stopped for coffee , or whatever , the only bike that gets any comments is one of my classics .One of these guys spend thousands on his carbon or titanium bikes!! Dang… I really really really need to get down there with a bike some day.
Portland friends: we’ve had intermittent rain & snow today. The high temperature was 41 degrees…

Another wonderful day in Pasadena for Vintage riding, Over 30 riders attended the joyous occasion and everyone was in great spirits. The rain clouds opened up on Us as we departed the Aquatic center parking lot , but within half an hour the sun poked thru and people had to get rid of their rain jackets . It actually warmed up quite a bit , the roads were sunny and dry and the Ride went on without any incidents. Bart and Than were recovering from some medical issues but joined us for the day, good to see them both , as well as "The Maestro" Chuck out there .. A BIG hats off to Bart for treating us to some Pizza. Domo Arrigato my Friend!
The Boys from the Pacific Northwest were in attendance and it was great to finally meet the guys we only know through Bike Forums , from the looks of it they were well at home riding in the drizzle and wet conditions. It was Great to have them in our Company . The internet really does make the World a small place and it was awesome to have them ride with us So Cal guys . Lots of Fantastic bikes were ridden and here are a few of the photos of the days ride.

Thanks for having us, Manny; we had a great time. I didn’t take many pics, but here’s one of @Spaghetti Legs outside the Rose Bowl paying homage to Jackie Robinson:

Looks like y’all had a wonderful time. I miss riding those roads.
Portland guys: we had snow showers in the low hills (West Hills, West Linn) this morning. It’s nice to see photos of riders in shorts.

Golly! I had one of those yellow-to-orange fade Giro helmets 30 years ago. I’m having flashbacks…

Thanks for the photos Manny66 - it was a lot of fun riding with the group. I was happy that my bike didn't break down on its first ride for me.

Great photos Manny and wonderful description of the ride. All of you were just great to be around enjoying the day and camaraderie. Was happy to provide some pizza at our rest stop.
Here’s a few more photos:
Gugie, the Portland mastermind, Hugh on the left.
Most of the riders, there were a few still coming in

And our rest stop outside Village Pizzeria in Sierra Madre, next door to Emmi’s which has taken over the former Bean Town spot. Emmi’s was very busy too.

You’re welcome any first Sunday of the month, meet up at 10:30 at the Rose Bowl Aquatic Center. Vintage bike preferred but ride what you bring.

What a fabulous Gaggle of Geesers!! Looks like a fabulous time.
This is fabulous, I wasn't aware anyone actually rode these incredible machines.
I can't believe you guys eith don't know or just use the rubberband kickstand. It's sort of a poorgirl's Flickstand. LIke the Flickstand makes the bike easy to prop up just about anywhere.
I use Advance #64, they are $3.60 for a box of 80 on the Amazon.
